This guy has a crab in each had that he had just caught near the bridge between Kill Devil Hills and Manteo Island on Hwy. 158. Of course I had to ask him for a quick snapshot.
There is a real nice bridge between Kill Devil Hills and Manteo Island on Highway 158 in the Outer Banks. A lot of nice fish are pulled in here. In North Carolina, a fishing license http://www.ncfisheries.net/recreational/NCCRFL.htm or http://www.outer-banks.com/fishinglicense.asp is required to fish off the shore line and can be obtained in many of the groceries, gas stations, and bait shops.
It looks like they have removed the stinger from this one. They almost have to because they allow people to put their hands in the water and handle them. Double Click on Photo for Better View.
Of course the ray that got the crocodile hunter was much bigger than this. I've never wanted to eat one, but in Asia they barbeque them and serve them up with a sauce sort of like a chili relish. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Sambal
The deer rountinely jump our 5 foot fence in our back field. They graze for awhile then sail back over the fence and disappear into the woods. Our grass certainly seems greener to them on the other side.
Here is a photo of a nice flock of geese taken in May, 2008 at Seneca Lake at what we used to call "Philo Point". Back in the 1950's my Dad used to bring me here and we would catch a lot of crappies. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crappie Things were not so busy and built up back then.
This vulture is waiting for me to go away so he can get back to his road feast of dead ground hog over on the highway. A lot of hunters would like to have a Walrus for their trophy rooms. However, it is not legal to bring one back to the states. So a reproduction is the logical answer. Here is one in progression in my shop. If anyone you know would be interested have them give me a call at : 740-454-3093
