Hurricane Ike
I watched in Amazement as the winds from Hurricane Ike Started to stir up on Buckeye Lake. See What Some People Do in Buckeye Lake on Bad Fishing Days The people kept trying to get their boats out of the water and they were really having a time getting them up on the trailers. Every time they would line them up the wind would come along and slam them. While most people were struggling to get out of the water a couple of guys in their 20's came along with a real low bass boat, backed down to the water and the second it hit they took off at break neck speed. You could tell they were really used to the water and the waves didn't seem to bother them a bit. The waves got pretty high at the lake as the afternoon went on. I was out in it for a few hours. The fish hunkered down.
But Ohio's fish can't compare to the Texas Fish disaster. Hurricane Ike could affect the ecosystem for years Ecosystem Link and the dead fish from Ike is tremendous See Trail of Dead Fish
It's a really bad fishing day when the hurricanes hit Ohio.
