In Muskingum County mostly poison oak and poison ivy exist. I Suppose sumac does also, though it is more likely to be found in southern Ohio. I made the mistake of getting into Sumac once and I looked like an alligator for a month. What misery. The only thing that helped was Olive Oil and Aloe Vera Gel. I tried everything. Chlorine about set me nuts. In my personal experience, the poison ivy rash is puffier and more watery and does not last as long as poison oak. I have found that poison oak has a finer rash on me, a drier look and tends to hang on for a while. But believe me, Sumac is the worst of the worst. Poison Oak and Ivy are mostly 3 leaved and Sumac is Vine like with stems like a small bush or tiny tree. I do not know if the five leaved plant above is Virginia Creeper or not.
